After installing the demo content is comes a message:

Error: An error has occurred.
500 Unknown column 'a.note' in 'field list

500 Unknown column 'a.note'

The 500 error is due to the fact that the demo content is not for the joomla version you are using. In every template info is written for which joomla version is done the demo sql file or quickstart. With quickstart there will not be any issues. If you have installed the sql demo file in latest joomla version, it is normal to have that message because the database is not the same and is needed to update to current joomla.

To fix this error is needed to Fix Your Database Schema.

  • Go to Extensions > Manage > Database:

Extensions manage database

  • On Extensions: Database click the Fix button which is on the top right of the screen.

Click the fix button

After a couple of seconds, you will see the "Database table structure is up to date" message:

Database table structure is up to date

By finishing this process the error will disappear from your joomla website.

With normal joomla installation, it will appear the word 'home' in homepage. This is because by default, the page heading is sett to Yes. To disable it do the following:

  • Login Joomla backend
  • Click in Menus - Main menu
  • Edit Menu Item – Home
  • Click on ‘Advanced Options’
  • Click on ‘Page Display Options’
  • Set the following value:
    • Show Page Heading = No
  • Click on ‘Save & Close

Go in joomla frontend and refresh your website.  The Main Menu title will to appear anymore.  If your main menu item heading was ‘Home’, you will not see it anymore.

Typically, a Mega menu is a single drop-down that appears on hover shows all the options in one large panel groups options into related categories uses icons or other graphics to help the user.

4-Add modules on the menu
In this section we are going to show you how to load different types of modules as menu items. Basically you can load any type of module:
custom HTML: embedded videos, external content, advertising (Google Ads or any other affiliated adds service), community links, etc;
regular Joomla! modules: login module, quick contact module, external content feeds, generally all modules you have installed in your setup;
you can also load unique module positions you have set for your modules, position that are not defined in your template.
The example below shows login form in menu

login

The settings for it is on the image below.

log module

The template has the main menu controlled in the template settings. If you have main menu published in any module position which exist in the template, it will appear twice.

Depends in which one you want to use.

1- If you want to keep the horizontal main menu which is controlled in template settings do the following. In Joomla backend go in Extensions - Modules. There unpublished the module where you have the main menu.

2- If you don't want to use the horizontal menu, in Joomla backend go in Extensions -Templates. There click in the default template. In template parameters Menu tab you can select not to show the horizontal menu.

During template installation it comes the error "Unable to find install package". This error pops up on the screen for two reasons.

The downloaded file is damaged or you are trying to install the full package, unzipfirst file.

Unzip the file you downloaded in our site and there you will find the template, extensions which are used on the template demo, template help documentation and template demo installer. Install in your website the template which is inside the file you unzipped. This installation should be ok, unless the downloaded template package was damaged during the download.
In this case, login in our site and download again the template. If you are using any Download Manager, disable it before starting the download process.

A Joomla template is not a website and can not be considered a completed website design. The template is the basic foundation for the design of your Joomla website.

A Joomla template doesn't contain sample data which is used on the template demo page. The sample data should be installed in your website, and this will make your joomla website look like the template demo.

Out latest templates have quickstart packages, created with Akeeba Kickstart. The instillation of quickstarts is done in less than three minutes. First unzip the quickstart which is inside the template package and use FTP to add it in your website. If you have not done yet your website and already have joomla installed, replace all joomla files with the ones which are in quickstart. After go in your website and make the installation by following all the steps.

Important: If you have live website already running, should install only the template. However you will get the other site layout with new template so all modules have to be assigned to new template layout.
